Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, with a competitive academic standing. Additional requirements may apply.
- Spanish is a plus, not required.
- 3 to 5 years law firm experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support Attorneys in law office
- Answer telephones – Supporting Legal Assistants and Receptionist
- Welcomes clients by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or directing inquiries
- Keeps cases organized by establishing and organizing files; monitoring calendars; meeting deadlines; documenting actions; inputting information into file database and case management software; confirming case status with attorney
- Helps develop cases by maintaining contact with people involved in the case; scheduling depositions; preparing and forwarding summonses and subpoenas; drafting complaints; preparing and filing discovery requests; preparing responses to opposing counsel; generating status reports
- Keeps clients informed by maintaining contact and communicating case progress
- Supports case preparation by preparing case summaries and materials for mediation conferences; preparing pleadings; monitoring and obtaining discovery responses; organizing materials for team case review
- Maintains attorneys’ appointment schedules by planning and scheduling among other things, meetings, conferences, teleconferences, travel and court appearances
- Maintains client’s confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed; and
- Any other duties that may be assigned from time-to-time.
